Assistant Director of Finance at Cheeca Lodge & SpaJoin Our Team:

Northwood Hospitality LLC, operating Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, FL, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Director of Finance. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial health of our resort, working closely with the Director of Finance and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team.Position Overview:Job Title:

Leadership & Supervision:

Provide leadership to the accounting team, supervising daily activities, conducting team evaluations, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of month-end closing, financial reports, and analysis. Ensure timely dispatch of all reports and maintain accurate accounting records.

Cash Flow & Banking:

Manage cash flow, maintain hotel bank accounts, and ensure proper use and maintenance of financial IT systems.

Internal Controls:

Maintain a framework of internal controls to protect assets, liabilities, revenue, and costs. Facilitate internal and external audits and address any issues promptly.

Accounts Management:

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage journal entries, and monitor returned checks.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other hotel departments to manage operating costs, monitor payroll, and ensure effective communication regarding billing and collection.

Client & Guest Relations:

Ensure prompt action and follow-up on guest issues/complaints related to billing and collection.

Requirements:

Experience:

Proven experience in finance or accounting, preferably in hospitality.

Leadership Skills:

Strong ability to lead and supervise a team.

Detail-Oriented:

High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting and internal controls.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various hotel departments and clients.
