The Milstein Family Foundation (MFF) is a private non-profit foundation with the mission of strengthening American values, supporting the U.S.-Israel alliance, and combating antisemitism.MFF supports a large network of non-profit organizations aligned with its mission and develops various in-house projects.Position OverviewMFF is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to ensure detailed bookkeeping and financial tracking for MFF and its projects. This role ensures that payments are correctly submitted and recorded while maintaining accurate financial information. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and accounting skills. This position requires the ability to undertake additional tasks when needed.ResponsibilitiesReceive all payments and donations; make and record bank deposits.Process donor acknowledgement letters and tax receipts.Manage donor contributions and grant funding, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.Manage PayPal accounts.Enter and pay bills using QuickBooks.Maintain fully populated and accurate vendor records including W-9’s and issuing 1099’s.Verify wiring instructions and put in wires for approval.Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.Monitor cash flow.Issue expense reimbursements to employees.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports as needed.Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support organizational decision-making.Manage relationships with vendors and service providers ensuring that invoices are received and paid on time.Assist with fundraisers and run financial reports as needed.QualificationsThe Bookkeeper must be thoroughly committed to MFF’s mission.Specific requirements include:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, as a bookkeeper, or similar roles. Non-profit experience is a plus.Strong working ability of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly detail oriented and with high sense of accountability.People oriented and supports a positive working environment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Position is located at our Encino office.The role reports to the Executive Director and to Head of Accounting.Work hours: M-T 9:00 - 6:00; F 9:00 – 5:00Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience and level of skills.Benefits offered: Paid vacation time, health insurance, vision and dental insurance, 401K.The Milstein Family Foundation is an equal opportunity employer committed to complying with all applicable laws providing equal employment opportunities and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
