Friday, August 16, 2024SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is hiring for a Deep Ocean Scientist. The Scientist will provide literature review and policy recommendations support to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) as an effort to better understand how climate change-related effects impact BOEM regulated activities within the deep waters of the Ocean Continental Shelf (OCS).The Deep Ocean Scientist will conduct a literature review to provide informed resource-management decisions for activities such as offshore wind, oil and gas, marine minerals, and carbon sequestration activities.Primary Duties will include:
Conduct literature and data compilation, review, and synthesis with relevant, up-to-date information and state-of-the-science information.Identify habitats and species of concern within the OCS area.Compile and synthesize info on climate change effects; Identify impact on habitat and/or species of concern.Provide recommendations for future needs and management practices related to climate change.Create resources and outreach materials for subject matter experts and general public detailing results of literature search.Develop an annotated bibliography.Present findings and participate in webinars as needed.Other duties as requested.Qualifications Include:
