Responsibilities
Sarah C. Varghese & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking an Arbitration Paralegal with 1-5 years legal experience to join our expanding No Fault/PIP Team in our Jericho, NY office. The paralegal will be responsible for managing a high-volume caseload of PIP arbitration matters in a fast-paced environment providing high quality work. The arbitration paralegal will be responsible for reviewing AR-1 submissions, preparing conciliations, reviewing medical records, appearing for AAA hearings, and drafting reports. The most qualified candidates will possess outstanding research abilities, written and oral advocacy skills, and will be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to independently manage a busy, time-sensitive caseload.The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend approximately 60% of the time within the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.Based in Jericho, NY, we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. Qualifications
1-5 years of No-Fault paralegal experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury environmentAbility to draft pleadings, routine motions, discovery, and legal memorandaFamiliarity with Court and American Arbitration Association rules and proceduresExperience with discovery processUnderstanding of medical terminology, CPT Codes, Workers’ Compensation Fee ScheduleStrong technical skillsExperience with discovery processPrior litigation or paralegal experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is requiredApplicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunityPotential salary range: $66,117.19-$92,000.00Potential yearly incentive pay up to 10% of base salary
