Director of Finance
to join their management team at their corporate office in Chicago, IL .
Among the Director of Finance’s numerous responsibilities is assisting in clearly defining a strategy for current and future financial activity. This strategy may include project financing on an individual basis, capital raising, and corporate finance responsibilities. This function also includes the maintenance and monitoring of these various financial activities. This position will report to the CFO and collaborate closely CFO and other company leaders. This position may also require the analysis and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for a board of directors.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Supervising the company’s financial operationsManaging accounting personnel and providing ongoing trainingBudgeting per the requirements of individual company departmentsAllocating capital funds for capital projects and collaborating with the Director of Facilities to ensure they remain financially viableDeveloping the company’s annual financial plans and projectionsAnalyzing the financial implications of business initiativesSupervising the company’s financial strategic planning by assessing its performance and potential risks.Conducting routine financial analysis.Creating budgets that adhere to the requirements of the company’s various departments.Managing all accounting and finance employees, including management accountants and internal auditors, by setting goals and managing them.Preparing detailed financial reports on the company’s performance.Ascertaining compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations.Recognizing patterns in the company’s spending and revenue and making recommendations for resolving any issues.Assisting the company in liaising with external financial institutions.TrainingDirector of Finance needs at least five years of experience in a management position within the finance industry.
Compliance
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual auditMonitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenantsComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsDirector of Finance Supervision
The Director of Finance supervises all accounting staff and requires supervisory experienceEducation and/or ExperienceRequired:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in finance or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience within an organizationExperience withproperty management software a plusEagerness to learn from the CFO and grow within the organizationKnowledgeable of local, state and federal required compliance
