POSITION PURPOSE:The Vice President, Origination is responsible for driving renewable natural gas (RNG) opportunity origination activities consistent with Terreva’s strategic and financial objectives. This position will develop and maintain partner relationships in order to identify, qualify, pursue, and secure new RNG project opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Identify, research and originate RNG development opportunities supporting Terreva’s platform growth across North AmericaDevelop and maintain relationships with potential counterparties and industry partnersPrepare and give presentations to prospective clients, internal executives, and shareholdersBuild, maintain and track qualified opportunities through sales pipelineTrack and respond to requests for proposal for RNG project developmentManage internal team activities in pursuit of each opportunityLead negotiation, in concert with Terreva management and outside legal counsel, of gas rights and other long-term commercial agreementsParticipate in technical advancement and preliminary engineering of potential solutionsWork with project development team to develop detailed budgets and timelines for each opportunityParticipate with Terreva leadership team to raise equity and debt for new projects & investmentsTravel up to 25-50% of time to opportunity locations across North AmericaNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assess and comment on current RNG market conditions affecting business developmentEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business related fieldsMinimum 5 years of relevant business development experienceDemonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) salesExtensive experience in renewable energy and/or complex projects involving substantial investment & constructionDirect experience working with public entities (counties, cities & regional authorities)ABOUT YOU:

Demonstrated mastery of the nuances of the renewable energy industry; familiarity with carbon accounting, RFS/LCFS programs, renewable gas standards, and renewable gas voluntary attributes a plusWorking knowledge of project financeProficiency with Microsoft Office tools; intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel and project financial modeling a plusStrong familiarity with the landfill industry; wastewater management industry a plusEffective communication skills, both written and oral, and strong attention to detailExcellent proposal development and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and proactively evaluate, address opportunitiesCapable of prioritizing and performing job functions with minimal supervisionAbility to evaluate site conditions for project constructabilitySound decision-making and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skillsProven track record demonstrating a success-oriented mindset, motivated by the challenge of winning in a highly competitive market
