Develops meaningful and purposeful activity programs to enrichthe lives of the residents and familiesDevelops and implements monthly activities program calendarbased on the therapeutic scope of programs.Promotes and maintains Family Partnership Program toencourage and nurture family members, community groups andindividuals to join together as volunteers with a focus on quality oflife for residents.Oversight of LE coordinators and Care managers with focus onquality daily living experiences for residents.Responsible for completion of Person Centered Care form foreach resident to ensure comprehensive social information iscollected in order to develop purposeful programs based oninterest, personal history and ability.Embraces and promotes Parallel Program model throughcalendar development, associate and volunteer participation.Maintains data collection and weekly reports to ensure eachresident is touched a minimum of 5 times per day in lifeenrichment programs- as a goal.Provides a forum for residents and family members to meetregularly and share their ideas, thoughts, and concerns regardingtheir daily living experience.Ensures that residents are encouraged and assisted to participate inlife enrichment activity programs that are of interest to them.Maintains an adequate supply of equipment for regular activities,keeping within budgetary guidelinesEncourages and welcomes participation from other departmentsMaintains resident and environment safety and supports all aspectsof safe return program2Carries out other duties as assigned by the Executive Directorincluding on-call and Manager On Duty responsibilities asassignedAttends monthly DLE Conference CallThe ability to work in a safe and alert mannerThe ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety ofthe residentsMust disclose any medication that might impair associate’s abilityto perform the job safely or competently.Non-Essential Functions:Leads by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servantleadershipEncourages teamwork and promotes company philosophyAttends required community meetings as requiredCompletes all required courses in adherence with HRA UniversityIs prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position ona regular, predictable basisBecomes familiar and understands how to report a missing personusing the Safe Return program or equivalent, if applicableAll associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secureenvironment for all community residentsQualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:Associate’s Degree is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred orequivalent education and experienceTraining as certified activity director, recreational, music, therapistpreferredMinimum of one-year experience in a senior care communityExperience working with Dementia residentsExperience in volunteer recruitment and training preferredAble to communicate effectively with all levels of management,associates, residents, family members, and outside contactsAble to make independent decisionsAble to seek out new methods and willing to incorporate them intoexisting practices when applicableMust possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensAble to follow missing person policy and procedure andunderstand the Safe Return program.
