Vaco Boston is looking for a motivated Revenue Accounting Manager to join the accounting team at an emerging manufacturing company. The position will be responsible for leading the revenue accounting team, including daily revenue and accounts receivable operations, month end closes, and developing/maintaining related internal controls. This role will serve as an advisor on revenue accounting topics and closely work with management across departments including finance to understand revenue and receivables trends. This offers a robust benefits package with a base salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a fully remote or hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities:Measure net revenue for use in monthly and annual financial statements.Develop assumptions and scenarios and measure net revenue for annual budget and routine forecasting.Document and review proper revenue recognition is reported.Manage and review the work of the accountants, addressing tight monthly deadlines.Oversee the daily accounting activities, prepare and monitor the budget, implement policies and procedures, and monitor program outcomes.Own the end-to-end internal control (SOX) program for all revenue processes and controls.Review standard customer contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.Work with technical accounting team to identify contracts that require technical accounting analysis.Support revenue related disclosures and the preparation/review of revenue footnote schedules associated with SEC filings.Analyze variances between budget and actual data and report findings.Work with various managers and directors at the sites to ensure accurate department expense reporting.Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for affiliates.Collaborate with the auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit for all entities.Supervises, trains, and evaluates professional and support staff.Manage ad hoc projects, as needed.Education and Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.CPA is helpful but not required.Master's degree is helpful but not required.5+ years of relevant accounting experience to include working knowledge.Advanced Excel skills.Understanding of SEC reporting and ASC 606 disclosure requirements.Vaco values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
