We are seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in handling Tort matters to join our growing Atlanta, Georgia office. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years’ experience. This individual will maintain positive contact with clients, observe confidentiality of client matters, and must be team-oriented.FMG’s Tort and Catastrophic Loss sections represent corporations and insurance companies in all aspects of general liability, professional liability and insurance coverage issues. We serve as national and coordinating counsel for a variety of carriers and corporations in their litigation matters.Responsibilities:
Provide initial analysis and develop case strategyPrepare and respond to discoveryTake and defend depositions, draft motions and attend hearingsExplain legal options to clients and bring possible outcomes or threats to their attentionBuild relationships with clientsAbility to negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing effectivelyRequirements:
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law schoolIn good standing and able to practice law in the state of GeorgiaStrong critical thinking skills and solid academic backgroundStrong sense of urgency about problem solving, meeting deadlines and achieving goalsKnowledgeable, attentive, and proactiveExcellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker, and problem solverSelf-motivated, and goal oriented with a track record of meeting billable hours goalsInclined to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervisionDetail oriented, organized and effectiveProfessional and can get along with people; communicates well with staffComputer skills: Microsoft Word and OutlookExperience with iManage and/or OneDrive a plusWhat we offer:
