The Richland Hospital, Inc. is currently recruiting for a full-time a Director of Surgical Services. The Director of Surgical Services is an administrative leader who is responsible for implementing the organizational and departmental mission, vision, and goals for the Surgical Services Department. The Director has the oversight responsibility of all aspects of staff management, departmental management, and for creating a professional practice environment that focuses on the patient. Administrative responsibilities include review and approval of annual work-plans, budget preparation, performance reviews and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and other regulatory requirements, such as, DNV, OSHA, etc. The Director, as a Registered Nurse, practices in a surgical services specialty unit by providing nursing services and serves as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure to practice nursing in the state of Wisconsin
ACLS and PALS certification required.
Previous leadership role in a healthcare setting preferred.
Minimum 3 years of surgical RN experience
Skills Required:
Excellent customer service skills
Technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to the area in order to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families
Effective project management and time management skills
Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, in order to independently carry out the duties of the position
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Basic computer knowledge Effective teaching style.
Understanding of budgets and finance.
Demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining nurse/physician relationships.
Must have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, including supervisory ability and a willingness to work harmoniously with others.
