Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatrician specializing in hematology/oncology.The pediatric hematology program provides comprehensive care to a wide variety of hematological conditions including bleeding disorders, thrombosis, sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure, and vascular malformations. The division is involved in cutting-edge research funded by the NIH and nonfederal entities.Requirements:

Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalentBoard certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalentBoard certified or eligible hematology/oncologyLicense or eligible for licensure in the State of IowaInterest and/or expertise in hematologyClinical experience in hematology in an academic settingExperience in patient-oriented researchTeaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residentsEvidence of scholarly activityStrong oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environmentThe University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A.
