and

four (4) years of experience in a greenhouse, laboratory, biological sciences, or related field.College or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for the required experience provided such education includes three courses in the physical and/or natural sciences.

Lab work may include making media, tissue culture, and sample preparation. Performs related duties as required or assigned by management.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Prior knowledge of plant-insect interaction.Knowledge of basic laboratory and greenhouse safety procedures.Skill in written and verbal communication.Task oriented and time management skills.Ability to lift 50 lbs. and bend repetitively.Ability to work independently.Ability to walk on uneven ground and in inclement weather.Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and humid environments.Ability to interact with the public and team members in a professional and courteous manner.The Benefits of Working for the State of FloridaParticipation in state group insurance (must meet eligibility requirements*);Participation in the Florida Deferred Compensation Plan (457b).
