The Reinsurance Accountant will be an integral contributor to the Reinsurance Accounting team. Responsibilities required of this role include, but are not limited to:Directly analyzing and processing reinsurance technical accounts such as quarterly accounts, profit commission calculations, sliding scale commissions, and premium adjustments.Documenting technical accounts that are processed accordingly to maintain an adequate audit trail.Understanding underwriting contract wordings to evaluate technical accounts received.Monitoring assigned accounts to keep them current and to identify missing statements or differences.Communicating with stakeholders to resolve issues.Monitoring reserve balances for assigned accounts, such as outstanding loss reserves, cash loss advances, and premium funds held.Following up with stakeholders to update balances periodically.Working closely with the Claims department to report paid losses and reserves.Working closely with the Cash Collection department to report balances needing reconciliation.Requirements
5+ years of accounting, auditing, or finance experience.Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry.Written and oral fluency in both English and Spanish.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent training.Experience with Excel and its key functions including formulas, pivot tables, etc.Analytical skills to look at business processes and make improvements.Previous experience working on cloud/server-based software.Work Schedule
