The Office Clerk, General - Advanced will:

Provide general office and administrative support to the Child Support Services Division (CSSD) Central Office;Process incoming mail and process child support payments daily;Process returned mail and update information in CSES if appropriate;Assist administrative support staff;Work with CSSD Central Office and Field Office staff to carry out job assignments.How does it get done?

The Office Clerk General-A is responsible for:

Opening, sorting, date stamping, and distributing mail to their respective units;Scanning mail into the CSSD¿s Electronic Content Management (ECM) system;Processing payments which may include receipting payments, acknowledging payments, preparing payment transmittals, scanning checks using electronic deposit website, verifying total dollar amount of checks is accurate, scanning and sending deposit documents and making deposit at bank if applicable;Collaborating with other units and Bureaus within Central Office to provide clerical support as needed.Who are the customers?

Internal and external customers;CSSD central office staff;Other division/department management and field office staff.Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate has:

Strong Organizational Skills;Experience interacting with customers professionally both in person and over the phone;Strong time management and critical thinking skills;Strong computer skills;Desire to actively look for ways to help people.

Minimum Qualification

High School diploma or Equivalent and three (3) months experience in office administration and/or customer service. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to VDT, extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required.
