We're seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to become a vital part of our Cornea-External Diseases Division. In this exciting role, you'll provide essential clinical and administrative support to ouresteemedphysicians, helping to deliver world-class care in our outpatient Westwood clinic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Gather patients' medical history, dilate patients, perform refractions, topography, lensometry, and keratometry with precisionManage essential supplies and instruments, ensuring our clinic is always fully stockedPrepare the surgery room and assist our surgeons in minor proceduresSupport patient service duties such as scheduling appointments, obtain pre-authorizations, and maintain medical recordsF

Salary Range: $33.02-43.56 HourlyThis is a full-time position eligible for full benefits as of the first day of employment.Qualifications

Required:Two years' experience working in a medical office including answering telephones, interacting with patients and familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans.One year of experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system.Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, medication, anatomy, physiology as well as disease of the eye and systemic disease that affect the eye.Knowledge of principles of the ophthalmic therapy, first aid and treatment of ocular and medical emergencies.Ability to use ophthalmic equipment such as tonopen, slit lamp, va monitor, auto-refraction, chair and applanation tonometer; and instrument sterilization techniques.

Ability to work as a team member and under pressure to organize and prioritize duties & task.Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors.

Excellent skills in basic office software and equipment including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, fax, email, copying, scanning, copy/paste, organization and extreme attention to detail

Excellent punctuality and dependability.Preferred:Experience registering patients in Epic/CareConnect system in an Ophthalmology practice.Experience working in a teaching environment.
