Job Summary
The Global Controller is the strategic leader responsible for the overall financial oversight of the Pharma business. This key role will lead the global controllership function, oversee the division’s financial operations, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The Global Controller will have a direct reporting line to the Pharma VP of Finance and will work closely with regional controllers to maintain a cohesive financial management structure, in addition to leading the North America region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership, Month End Closing Coordination and Consolidation (40%)Lead the global controllership function, providing strategic oversight of financial operations, including in-house and outsourced activities. Establish and maintain governance structures with outsourced finance & accounting business services to ensure operational excellence and compliance. Provide leadership for the regional accounting organization, fostering an environment of accurate financial reporting and adherence to US GAAP, IFRS, and applicable local accounting standards. Validate the division’s sub-consolidation reporting and support the global consolidation process when needed. Provide oversight over the governance of the division's master data process and financial systems.Financial Reporting and Compliance (40%)Responsible for the delivery and accuracy of financial statements. Oversee global financial reporting, with particular attention to North America region. Oversee and coordinate corporate allocation processes in collaboration with FP&A and ensure the timely consolidation of monthly financial statements, including variance analysis and reporting. Manage the overall monthly close process. Provide technical accounting guidance.Business communication, Process Improvement and Internal Controls (20%)Liaise with various departments to fulfill responsibilities effectively and advise on accounting rules and regulations. Oversee and maintain the internal controls performance. Implement new controls for all accounting and finance processes as required.
