to join our growing team!What We Offer:Diverse Cases: Experience a wide variety of cases, from routine wellness checks to critical care.Supportive Team: Join a fantastic team that values collaboration, mentorship, and a positive work environment.Community: Become an integral part of the Denver community and contribute to the health and happiness of its pets and pet owners.Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine through ongoing professional development.Our Ideal Candidate:Medical Expertise: A skilled veterinarian passionate about delivering high-quality care.Team Player: Someone who values teamwork and collaboration.Passion for Pets: A deep love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.Job SummaryThe Principal Doctor is responsible for comprehensive oversight and accountability across all facets of the hospital, ensuring the delivery of top-notch veterinary care and exceptional client service.Key ResponsibilitiesHigh-Quality Care and Service: Ensure consistent, high-quality care and exceptional service.Partner with the Practice Manager to support hospital operations.Lead talent acquisition, training, development, coaching, and mentoring of employees.Maximize hospital efficiency, profitability, and productivity.Ensure current licensures for all applicable employees.Support and mentor Associate Doctors to reach their professional potential.Ensure proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, and current medical practices.Oversee effective training of employees.Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with state and federal laws.Take responsibility for community outreach and marketing efforts.Required Skills and KnowledgeDemonstrated ability to uphold integrity and ethics in all actions.Stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.Identify, address, and resolve conflicts effectively.Provide consistent, high-quality care and medical services.Education and ExperienceDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.State Veterinary Board License.5+ years practicing as a DVM in a hospital setting.Prior experience training associate doctors and paraprofessional staff.Work Location, Environment, and Physical RequirementsThe Principal Doctor position is performed onsite at our hospital.Position requires 40+ hours per week to complete essential duties.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Commitment to DiversityWellHaven is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to complying with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination.
