This is a key role responsible for overseeing reception operations, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries. This position also involves supporting a small team of front desk student employees, providing essential office administrative support, and assisting with event planning and execution. The ideal candidate has strong communication and problem-solving skills, cultural sensitivity, and experience in customer service and/or team management.

This part-time position has flexible hours and typically works a 12-month schedule. However, there is eligibility for the position to work a 10- or 11-month schedule with time off during the summer. Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications.

The university is interested in candidates whose experience and qualifications support an ongoing commitment to this core quality.Duties and Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:* Reception Management: Oversee the front desk operations, including answering telephones, greeting visitors, and addressing inquiries with professionalism and cultural sensitivity. Direct questions to the appropriate staff members or resources.* Student Assistant Team Coordination: Work closely with a small team of student employees. Responsibilities include training new team members, administering policies and expectations, and providing ongoing support to ensure high standards of service.* Operational Support: Assist with various operational and administrative tasks, including scheduling, maintaining records, Cascade website updates, and managing office supplies. Ensure that operational areas are organized and well-maintained.* Event Planning Assistance: Support the planning and execution of events by coordinating logistics, organizing materials, and assisting with event setup and takedown.Qualifications:Qualifications:* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.* Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administrative roles is highly desirable.* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.* Prior experience supervising or training others, particularly students, is a plus.* Proficiency with office software and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn new platforms.* Ability to perform tasks independently and meet deadlines, as well as prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.* Experience with international protocol/etiquette and/or working with non-English speaking individuals.Additional Posting Information:Conditions of Employment:Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
