Starting Compensation

Annual Salary: $73,300.00 - $105,099.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

Encore is seeking a dynamic Model Risk Oversight Analyst to help build the company’s model risk function. This role is an opportunity to shape Encore’s strategic thinking on model risk, a key focus for both company leadership and financial institutions around the world.

The Model Risk Oversight Analyst is responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s approach to managing risks related to the use of statistical models. This will include supporting independent validation of models as well as enhancing and implementing governance standards. The role will also be responsible for tracking changes in portfolio valuations over time and creating reports on these for executive leadership. This position is expected to demonstrate strong quantitative acumen, ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple functions, and comfort with communicating insights to senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a database of current and historic portfolio valuations.Create regular reporting on changes in portfolio valuations for executive leadership.Support validation and review of models.Recommend and implement enhancements to Encore’s model governance processes.Develop risk controls including model catalogs, risk tiering, and other reporting.Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's

FIELD OF STUDY:

Statistics, Finance, Economics, or similar

EXPERIENCE:

Recommend 3+ years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

Experience with analytical tools such as Python, SQL, and PowerBI1+ years of experience in model development, model validation, predictive modelling, monitoring, or a good understanding of model risk and assessment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Master's or Advanced

FIELD OF STUDY:

Statistics, Finance, Economics, or similar

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

Experience in the financial services industryExperience with developing or evaluating credit models, loss models, or similar
