Job Summary
The Grant Specialist works under the Chemical Dependency program, with a goal of meeting grant compliance and reporting standards of each grant utilized in the program. Coordination with staff to achieve effective objectives of each grant specifications. Position expectations may include community outreach efforts, educational components, and special projects implementation. Communication with grant partners, timely data entry, and organization of ever-changing grant requirements to ensure grant compliance. The Grants Specialist keeps the Chemical Dependency Manager informed of all activities and works to gather, review, and analyze data relevant to the full development of the grants.
Essential Functions
Sole responsibility for all grant reporting and project evaluation requirements. Specifically, this includes: quarterly, mid-year and annual reporting to funder's requirements; and development, execution, analysis, and dissemination of quantitative and qualitative data for grant evaluation needs.
Designs, plans, implements and facilitates grant programmatic efforts including meetings, activities, public events, and outreach efforts.
Ensures the effective and timely coordination of all project tasks and commitments.
Meets and exceeds expectations for following Tribal employment policies, including Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) requirements as applicable.
Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO Ordinance.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree.
Experience
Three (3) years' experience in program development, working within grant requirements in the fields of behavioral health, wellness, and/or public health.
Preferred
Ability to communicate effectively and work within an integrated workforce environment.
Ability to effectively work both independently and as a member of a culturally diverse team.
License/Certification
Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable).
Special Skills
Advanced skills in the areas of community organization and community awareness.
Capacity to review, assess, analyze and conceptualize research data and statistics.
Demonstrated capacity to work with a multitude of data sources and meet deadlines.
Excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
Capacity to conceptualize, design and develop documents relevant to project needs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others.

Serves as documented evidence that the Kenaitze Indian Tribe has expressed the ineligibility of an employee to operate motor vehicles owned, leased or rented by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, or to operate a personal vehicle on behalf of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.
