The Merchandise Planner for Wholesale has the ability to influence both peers and leaders. Merchandise Planners are accountable for analysis of in-season business and the development of future financial strategies that support financial goals. Through their analysis and development of financial strategies they will collaborate with Merchandising, Sales, Sales Operations, Production, and Inventory & Allocation.Qualifications
What you'll get to do:Strategize - Partner with the sales, merchandising and planning leadership teams on sales and product strategy, building targets, measuring KPIs, optimizing sell through, and forward planning.Pre-Season Planning - Partner with cross-functional teams including wholesale sales, merchandising, and production to align product assortment strategies with financial goals and wholesale customer needs.Seasonal Planning - Develop and maintain plans by account type and product category, based on historical data, market trends, and sales forecasts. Adjust plans as necessary to react to business changes or opportunities.Support seasonal product launches by ensuring that inventory is available for wholesale accounts in line with marketing and sales plans.Inventory Management - Manage monthly receipts to approved levels by analyzing buys and focus on optimal inventory turn, while adjusting plans as necessary to react to business changes or opportunities.Wholesale Account Support - Work closely with key wholesale accounts to understand their product needs, performance, and upcoming assortment plans, ensuring that merchandise planning supports each partner's objectives. Partner with internal Sales and Sales Operations teams to ensure optimal customer order fulfillment. Some travel required.Reporting & Analysis - Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on sales, inventory, forecasts, and fulfillment metrics for internal teams and wholesale partners. Conduct hindsight of merchandise/planning strategy to inform future planning and execution activities. Support creation of financial decks with commentary for key business meetings.Analyze business performance and make recommendations that will maximize sales, profitability, and inventory and mitigate risk.Systems & Process – Partner with teams to improve capabilities around analytics, conclusions, recommendations, to assist in driving key milestone meetings to conclusion with improved communication and influence.Who you are:Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, business, or supply chain preferred.5+ years of retail planning, inventory management, financial planning and / or production planning experience.Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Excel and/or related planning, finance or analytical systems.Great business influence skills. Role is highly influential and requires input from various teams to be successful.Proven ability to meet deadlines, grow performance capabilities, and handle shifting priorities - able to thrive in a fast paced environment.Able to identify and influence critical stakeholders, proactively problem solve, and recommend solutions.Extremely strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information and recommendations in terms meaningful to a variety of audiences.Additional Information
