Award-winning architecture firm that is reputably one of the best places to work in Los Angeles & San Diego, earning California's Design Firm of the Year, is seeking a Project Architect focused on Science & Technology projects with laboratories to join either their growing Los Angeles or San Diego studio.
With over 30 years of practice, this 160-person firm is nationally recognized in programming, planning + design for the healthcare, science & technology, higher education, K-12, and civic sectors. The firm's expertise includes transformative projects for schools of medicine and the health professions, advanced research and teaching laboratories, leading-edge museums and civic landmarks, tech-offices, and innovative clinical facilities on higher ed, healthcare, and urban campuses. The team is actively seeking talented Architects with a passion and expertise in science & technology project types.
Candidates should have the following skill-set:
Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment
Strong design and graphic sensibility
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Creative problem solving
Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
Good understanding of specialized laboratory environments, including lab planning and infrastructure and equipment coordination
Experience and knowledge in the following:
Building codes and agency requirements
Building systems and coordination engineering consultant disciplines
Working with contractors/trades in collaborative delivery
Design and Documentation (drawings and specifications) of laboratory projects
Qualifications
10-15 years experience within the planning, design, coordination, and documentation of Science & Technology laboratory projects
Prior Science & Technology and laboratory experience
Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Architecture required
Proficiency in Revit/BIM production required
A professional license within the State of California preferred
LEED certification preferred
