Location/Division Specific InformationAs the director of Distribution at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., your main role will involve ensuring the smooth functioning of all distribution centers and logistics within the sites you lead. This position supports various business sectors, including our Life Sciences division. While you will have specific responsibilities within the portfolio, the nature and extent of your role may evolve along with the company's growth.

A day in the Life:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain efficiencies and drive performance improvement

Apply analytics to find ways to decrease expenses while enhancing the level of service provided.

Lead and develop your team to achieve operational metrics and ensure excellent customer service

Create and implement environmentally-friendly initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety guidelines.

Develop and maintain a culture of development and employee engagement

Set strategy and focus for your sites, providing clear vision and direction to your leadership teams

Keys to Success:To excel in this role, you will need:

Education

A university degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required. However, equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of meaningful experience in leadership, engineering, supply chain, or project management

Previous experience in leading a regional team of supply chain leaders and professionals

Familiarity with continuous improvement lean methodology, including Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard Work, Value Stream & Process Mapping, and kaizen

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong analytical and financial skills, with a proven track record to identify and implement cost-saving measures

In-depth knowledge of key supply chain, distribution, and transportation standard methodologies

Cross-functional business experience across the Order to Cash cycle

Experience using ERP, WMS, and TMS functionality to improve operational performance

Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentIn this role, you will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment that may involve occasional travel to various sites. Effective communication and collaboration with team members and others involved will be important.
