The successful candidate will possess excellent legal writing skills, academic credentials, and references, along with a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in environmental law. Experience in the environmental field, including industry, government, or non-profit work, is highly advantageous. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia or eligible for licensure.Duties:Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on environmental law matters.Conduct legal research and analysis related to environmental regulations, statutes, and case law.Draft legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and contracts.Participate in environmental litigation proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals.Advise clients on compliance with environmental laws and regulations.Negotiate and draft agreements related to environmental issues, such as permits and remediation plans.Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on multi-disciplinary matters.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in environmental law.Strong understanding of environmental regulations and statutes.Excellent legal writing skills demonstrated through prior work or academic achievements.Superior analytical and research abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Prior experience in environmental fieldwork, industry, government, or non-profit, is a plus.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for admission.Any additional certifications or advanced degrees related to environmental law are desirable.Skills:Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.Familiarity with environmental regulations at federal, state, and local levels.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, practical advice.Strong negotiation and drafting skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
