Based in Anchorage, Alaska, the medical facility is located in a thriving community offering plenty of opportunities to capitalize on the Alaskan lifestyle.Job SummaryAs a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Nurse, you will provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures.You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care.You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience. In this role:You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that takes place in the Cath lab. These procedures include but are not limited to: cardiac catheterizations and/or coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural Heart (LAAC, TAVR) procedures.You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. You will use the appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following the removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room. You will manage emergent cases.You will maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records.You will complete all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.You will demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well under stressful situations.You will collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient as needed.REQUIREMENTS:Current nursing license in good standing.Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred.Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required.American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).Additional Information: Must have experience – RN and AK lic required, 3 years experience in Cath Lab or 5 years experience in a high acuity setting (e.g., ICU, circulating, monitoring, and sedation medication (experience mixing sedation drips) No mapping experience needed (performed by 3rd party company). Unit Beds/rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day.SCHEDULE:Full-Time – 12 Hour Shifts: Shift times: 7a – 7:30p (12 hr shifts) – Weekend/Holiday on CallCOMPENSATION:$38.97 / hour
