Technical Design & Product Development Assistant (Contract)

Huckberry is looking for a motivated individual to assist the Technical Design and Product Development Team. The ideal candidate has experience with measuring garments and has an understanding of product development. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is organized and is willing to learn more about the Technical Design and Product Development side of the fashion industry. This person exhibits a positive attitude, a go-getter mentality, and loves to assist wherever needed.
Please note this is a contract position
Responsibilities
Must be available 5 days/40 hours a week in-person/onsite in Austin, TX
(Monday - Friday with WFH flexibility on Fridays)
Must have experience in measuring samples and entering specs in PLM
Assist the Technical Design and Product Development team with taking notes during fittings
Steam samples to prepare for live model fittings
Organizing fit sample library
Assist with PLM updates (Includes entering fit/construction comments, updating CAD constructions, adding in pre-fit comments from vendors, uploading fit photos)
Shipping, receiving, tracking and distributing packages to the team
Filing, organizing, and data entry (Google Docs, Airtable, Centric)
Assisting TD, PD, and Production with any projects
Production assistance (TOP review)
Requirements
Entry-level position with Technical Design experience (1 to 3 years experience)
Bonus if you have Product Development and Production experience
Proficient in understanding measurement charts and garment construction
Experience with measuring both knit and woven fabrics – tops, bottoms, sweaters, and outerwear product categories
Basic understanding of Google Docs, Gmail, Airtable (bonus), PLM (bonus), Adobe Illustrator (bonus)
Experience in a fast-paced culture, able to multi-task priorities to sustain final deliveries
Excellent interpersonal skills in communication, in writing, in person, and with a diversified team, digitally and virtually
