AI-powered biology automation.Methid is searching for scientists and engineers to be part of the founding team and work on automating life-science methodology.Methid is changing the way biology and medical research are done, right at the edge of bits and atoms. Life-science research and diagnostics are more tedious, laborious, and error-prone than they need to be. This makes research and healthcare slower, more expensive, and less reliable, even for what should be simple tests and therapies! We make life-science research and diagnostic medicine better, faster, and cheaper.As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will shape the direction of our AI perception technology and your work will be essential to the success of Methid at the proof of concept stage and beyond. You will lead the application of the best available deep learning-based computer vision models to our innovative biology automation platform.The OpportunityPartner with founder to architect our production AI perception systemOwn the computer vision pipeline and deploy models to productionShip quality, well-tested code on a modern technology stackLead software design discussions and code reviews and help shape product directionEncourage, motivate, and mentor other engineers to hone their craftYou'll NeedProven history of designing, training, and deploying CNN computer vision models to production5+ years of experience in computer vision, perception, and deep learningExperience with PyTorch and YOLOv7Experience designing and operating labeling systemsStrong written and verbal communication and collaboration skillsDesire to grow and learn while innovating on a system that grows and learnsAptitude and passion for technical leadership, code and model reviews, and development of teammatesBonusBS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related fieldExperience with C/C++Experience with GStreamer and DeepStreamExperience with multi-camera object tracking, depth, and pose estimationExperience with scientific computing or laboratory automationPrior academic publication record in computer vision or related fieldExperience working in a collaborative and fast-paced Agile team environmentPassion for biology and a startup work environment!CultureWe think culture is something we build together, and should be used to motivate and cohere, rather than to exclude.
