We are seeking a motivated individual responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the department at the local level. The candidate will have increasing responsibilities in designing, managing, and marketing Water Resources Engineering for a variety of clients and project types. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design and management experience in drainage and stormwater management design, modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to effectively oversee, perform and manage a variety of water resource related engineering projects.This position will help grow the water resources discipline as part of a multi-discipline engineering office with strong transportation resume and clients. There is a significant need for a candidate that understands the existing Virginia stormwater regulations, has experience on stormwater and drainage design for Virginia transportation projects, and can assist local municipalities with MS4 permit compliance and reach their TMDL goals. Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. Acts as a technical mentor to junior engineers.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leadersEstablish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business developmentManage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordinglyLead and contribute to the production of proposalsServe as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staffEstablish resources staffing needs for the sectionInterview and hire staff for the sectionPerform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teamsLead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited programMinimum of 10 years of experience in water resources engineeringProfessional Engineer License or equivalentProject management and business development experienceProficient in Microsoft OfficeQualifications Preferred:
