Together, we won't stop!This attorney, working in the Legal Affairs Department, will represent T-Mobile and provide counsel to business units and Human Resources on employment-law matters. The role focuses on employment-law support for the Retail and T-Mobile for Business segments, and wage/hour issues.What you'll do in your role:

Provide practical, day-to-day, employment-law and HR counseling to HR clients.Proactively enhance wage/hour compliance (including conducting wage/hour audits) in areas like pay equity, payroll compliance, exempt status, timekeeping attestations, suitable seating, and predictive scheduling.Manage employment arbitration and litigation proceedings with outside counsel support, with a focus on creative strategies, cost reduction, and efficient resolutions.Oversee responses to demand letters and administrative charges (including California DLSE complaints).Provide counseling and litigation support for benefits and ERISA issues, including pension support, with heavy support from outside counsel.Develop and review written HR policies, guidelines, processes, templates, and training materials.Develop and deliver legal training for HR and other internal clients.Tackle emerging employment law issues.The experience you'll bring:

7+ years of experience as an employment attorney, with relevant in-house and/or top law firm experience.7+ years of experience handling employment arbitrations and litigation involving wage/hour, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and other employment claims.Minimum 5 years, prefer 7+ years, of identifying, auditing, and mitigating wage/hour risks.Prefer experience in at least some of the following areas:Counseling or litigation experience with ERISA and other benefit issues.Pay equity audits, remediation, and litigation.Administering employment arbitration programs, and enforcing employment arbitration agreements.Litigating joint employment cases, including enforcing related indemnity agreements.Top-tier writing skills, with a focus on efficiently revising others' work product and concise email construction.Top-tier oral communication skills, with a focus on clearly and simply conveying complex employment law concepts, risks, and options to clients.Strong judgment that allows you to properly weigh what's best for our customers and our business.EOE StatementWe Take Equal Opportunity Seriously - By ChoiceT-Mobile USA, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
