Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy.Location: Fredericksburg HCC (Fredericksburg, VA)Job DescriptionPhysician – Section Chief of Ophthalmology-Current staffing: 1 Chief of Ophthalmology, 15 under reporting to Chief, ideally 5 Ophtha and 10 techs.-As a Section Chief, 80% clinical and 20% administrative duties. This is a brand-new HCC ambulatory and Outpatient only facility.-Currently, hiring for a non-academic position. Opportunities in the future to precept residents, medical students, nursing students, allied health students with academic affiliate partners.Highlights of this position include:Potential starting base salary:

Medical personnel have statutory immunity from “individual” malpractice liability while acting within the scope of employment; a VA physician cannot be sued in civil court for a malpractice (tort) claim.
