Director of Industry Engagement

works with the Vice President of Engagement in advancing Ascend’s mission to enable a modern workforce ecosystem. The Director of Industry Engagement will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships between Ascend and various industry partners. This position will focus on fostering collaborations that advance Ascend’s mission, enhance our programs, and create mutual value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stakeholder engagement, excellent communications skills, and a passion for driving social impact through strategic partnerships.Key ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Engagement:

Develop and maintain relationships statewide with industry partners, including corporations, trade associations, and other relevant entities.Partnership Development:

Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities that align with Ascend's goals and objectives.Program Support:

Collaborate with internal teams to integrate industry partnerships into programmatic initiatives, ensuring alignment with Ascend’s priorities.Convening(s) Support:

Support events, workshops, and meetings that engage industry partners and promote collaboration.Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for industry partners, managing ongoing communication and ensuring their needs and expectations are met.Reporting:

Track and report on the progress and outcomes of industry engagement activities, providing regular updates to senior leadership.Resource Development:

Assist in the development of proposals, grant applications, and other funding opportunities related to industry partnerships.Marketing and Outreach:

Work with the Inform team to create materials and campaigns that highlight the impact of industry collaborations.Continuous Improvement:

Stay informed about trends and best practices in industry engagement and apply this knowledge to enhance the organization's approach.Leadership:

Guide and motivate others to align with and work towards shared goals. Foster an environment where team members are empowered, encouraged and provided with the resources needed for growth and success.Requirements

EducationBachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related fieldExperience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industry engagement, partnership development, or a related role, preferably within a non-profit organizationSkills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalProven ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholdersStrategic thinker with the ability to align partnership opportunities with organizational goalsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRM softwareExcellent project management and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detailAble to articulate complex ideas in clear, innovative ways to diverse audiencesAbility to learn new technology tools and processes quicklyProven leader with the ability to empower and guide a team to common goals and strategiesAttributes
