Help us open the newest cultural institution in DC. This new full-time position will be an integralpart of our Education Team and the execution of our educational and programmatic goals and initiatives. This role willbe responsible for coordinating volunteers, group tours (school tours, adult tours, and walking tours), and assisting withall phases of our public programs for all audiences.About the Capital Jewish MuseumThe Capital Jewish Museum is a new Jewish history and culture museum under construction located at 3rd and F St.NW, Washington, DC, just a block from the National Building Museum, and short walk from Union Station. TheMuseum will open our doors to the public in late spring 2023. The mission of the Capital Jewish Museum is toinspire audiences to Connect, Reflect, and Act — connect across families and communities, reflect on therelevance of history to today, and act on behalf of their communities and values.

Duties and Responsibilities



Schedule volunteers, track hours, and create reports• Coordinate volunteer special events, workshops, and track benefits• Develop, build, and maintain meaningful relationships with volunteers and work on recognition• Schedule and staff group tours (including adult tours, school groups, and walking tours)• Staff and help develop materials and activities for the Community Action Lab in conjunction with the EducationManager(s) and Curatorial team• Liaise with teachers and educators to prepare school groups for Museum visits—connecting to curriculum andmatching with correct volunteer/educator, and coordinating all logistics• Assist with program development and implementation across audiences• Coordinate logistics for public programs (may include booking speakers, processing invoices, stocking programmaterials)

Qualifications• Experience in informal education settings; Jewish experiential education is a plus• Passion for mission of the Museum• Facilitation experience with a knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices• Ability to develop and implement education programs for a variety of audiences• Demonstrated flexibility and creative problem solving - things may not always go according to plan, but youunderstand that ambiguity is part of developing great new opportunities, and you learn from past experience.• Familiarity with and passion for working with adults, teens, children, and intergenerational audiences• Strong communication skills – written and oral• Some night and weekend work required

Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 commensurate with experience. The Capital Jewish Museumoffers a generous vacation schedule, and benefits package that includes health insurance (employer pays 75% ofemployee), Metro Stipend, Life Insurance, and a 403b with 3% employer match after a vestment period.
