Description
SUMMARY:
The Personal Lines Account Manager performs essential sales and service functions for the department including, but not limited to, fulfilling client requests, assisting producers as necessary, and successful marketing activity required to meet sales, service, and quality standards adopted by the Agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Respond to phone calls and office visitors requesting changes to existing coverage and/or new policies; determine acceptability and placement, complete applications or endorsement requests, and collect premiums when applicable; educate clients by explaining coverage and exclusions, as necessaryReview existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and do so by mail and phone; throughout the policy, year continue to solicit increases in coverage or round out accounts through sales to clients at every service contactProcess renewals and remarket as outlined by the Agency; review renewals to determine if non-standard policies can be rewritten in a standard program; prepare to rewrite applications for business from companies no longer represented; secure and submit required renewal underwriting information, such as credit, Clue, MVRsGenerate new business for the agency - take responsibility and ownership for making our business grow and improving/building the relationships with our existing and future customersMaintain a working knowledge of all available products to enhance sales abilityRefer current and prospective clients to Employee Benefits and Commercial Insurance Departments for solicitation of those lines of business, if applicableRate and quote new and existing coverages through rating systems or websitesMaintain customer's account on the agency automation system, documenting conversations in the activity log, sending confirmations to the insured and adhering to all other automation procedures; invoice premium transactions as they occurMaintain own follow-up and suspense file on outstanding orders and correspondence; follow-up on all overdue and suspense items; maintain expiration control log; maintain underwriting files in an orderly and up-to-date mannerReceive and review all cancellations to determine necessary actionPerform all actions relating to customers and companies in a manner that will avoid issues involving potential errors and omissionsParticipate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill developmentADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Should have knowledge of, or the ability to develop a thorough understanding of personal insurance underwriting and coveragesAbility to effectively market/re-market policies/coveragesAbility to understand written and oral communications and interpret abstract informationIntermediate PC skills, with a focus on the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and effectively utilize the Agency Management systemsAccurate and organized, with strong attention to detailAbility to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environmentSelf-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directedRegular and punctual attendance is requiredAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writingExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levelsAbility to promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the AgencyAbility to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentialityQUALIFICATIONS:
2-4 previous personal lines insurance experience preferredPossession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, all licenses as required by the State Department of InsuranceCISR and other related designation(s) preferredA College degree is desirableWORKING CONDITIONS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:
Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing prioritiesAbility to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequentlyAbility to lift up to 20 pounds occasionallyRequires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video displayAll requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate physical or mental impairment
