UMIAQ Environment is hiring a Dedicated GIS Specialist with geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial data analysis. Proficient in leveraging GIS software, such as ArcGIS, to collect, manage, and analyze geospatial data. Skilled in creating detailed maps, spatial models, and conducting spatial analysis to support data-driven decision-making. Experienced in managing large datasets, performing spatial queries, and integrating various data sources to produce accurate and actionable insights. We recruit only qualified people looking to join a workforce characterized by strong leadership, competent and hard-working staff, and a superior work environment with a focus on career development, great wages and benefits.Responsibilities:Specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:Prepare visually pleasing project drawings for use in plans, reports, and permit applications.Follow existing procedures for document review, organization, and file structure.Inventory data needed to complete requested drawings, work to obtain data, and communicate when data needs to be purchased or is not available.Intermediate to advance skills in the MS Office suite Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.Communicate clearly and respectfully to all coworkers, clients, and stakeholders.Develop of flow charts, flyers, and outreach materials, or assist with management of data, as assigned.Demonstrable ability to use GIS software to prepare and modify drawings, including accurate measurement of dimensions.Strong communication skills.Familiarity with using the internet to search for and download data needed for drawings.Ability to inventory data needed to complete requested drawings and communicate when data needs to be purchased or is not available.Intermediate to advance skills in Adobe and the MS Office suite Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.Planning, organizing, and prioritizing workload are primary duties. The Drafter must be flexible and capable of adapting to changing timelines.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.Qualifications:Associates degree in technical drafting or design, or minimum 2 years of related experience.An Associates degree in technical drafting or design, or minimum 2 years of related work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).MS Office Suite: Word and Excel
