Saracina Vineyards is a Certified California Sustainable ("CSWA") winery and vineyard nestled along the Upper Russian River in northern California's wine country. Our 350-acre farm, located outside the small town of Hopland, hosts 80 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards, a 140-year-old olive orchard, an organic vegetable garden, beehives, mini- goats, alpacas and the only wine caves in Mendocino County.

Position Overview:
The Winery Ambassador is responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences that promote the sale of wine and increase brand loyalty. The Winery Ambassador delivers outstanding customer service while achieving company sales goals, communicating the Saracina story and history effectively to guests on and off the estate at Saracina Vineyards. This Winery Ambassador is responsible for maintaining a clean and attractive physical setting to reinforce the quality of the brand. This position also assists with winery events and conducts tours as requested on-site. Full and Part-Time position(s) available.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Provide primary greeting and education of visitors immediately upon entry to the tasting room. Communicates in a knowledgeable, professional, and gracious manner with all guests. Serves samples of our wines to individual guests and groups.Diplomatically ensure that each guest is of legal age to consume alcohol by checking guest identification.Promote the sale of our wines and other products.Ensure clean, well-organized, and functional environment in the tasting bar area and performs facility housekeeping as necessary: (i.e., the tasting bar, outdoor patio and surrounding areas, tower, and restrooms).Maintain adequate physical inventory of wine and merchandise and arranges for restocking on a timely basis in coordination with the Hospitality and Events Manager.Ensure that the tasting menu is accurate and up to date.Provide visitors with information regarding the wine club and any customer service questions regarding the wine club in coordination with the Hospitality and Events Manager.Assist in developing relations with other wineries and hospitality industry businesses to build visitor base.Accurately use the POS system and other winery software systems (e.g., Shopify, Bloom, Ship Compliant, etc.) to transact sales.Assist in maintaining daily sales records; accurately reconciles cash receipts daily and posts transactions; tracks samples, damaged, and other non-sales transactions.Assist in retail merchandising, including stocking and organizing.Assist in maintaining tasting room supplies through the Hospitality and Events Manager as needed.Assist with boxing and shipping of direct-to-consumer orders, including accurate data entry in shipper software when necessary.Support Hospitality and Events Manager in developing DTC initiatives (including but not limited to phone-sales, wine club communications, e-commerce, website updates, etc.).Under the direction of the Hospitality and Events Manager, assists with event planning and execution and reception of distributors and other wine industry visitors.Conduct wine cave & vineyard tours upon request.Handle other tasks and events as assigned by the management team.Check Tasting Room email daily and respond to all inquiries in a professional manner within 24 hours of receiving emailQualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.Must be able to work weekends.One year of experience in winery DTC sales preferred.High School diploma required; College degree preferred.Wine industry or hospitality experience preferred; strong retail and customer service experience required.Knowledge, appreciation and passion for wine.Passion to connect with guests and share the Saracina Story.Possesses the oral and written communication skills and technical ability to perform and manage all the assigned functions.An intrinsic knack for customer service and satisfaction.Proficient with all Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook).Proficient with POS systems (Bloom, Shopify, ShipCompliant).Proficient in handling cash, making change, and basic math.Strong working knowledge of office equipment, including computer and telephone systems.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and track details with accuracy and efficiency.Ability to interact appropriately and positively with internal and external personnel at various levels, and to handle sensitive and/or confidential issues with tact and discretion.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
