POSITION STATEMENT
An employee in this class is responsible for the transportation of participants who utilize WNC Source programs like medical, employment, meal-site, and shopping, as well as other inter-agency programs as assigned. Work is performed under direct supervision. Annual performance reviews evaluate punctuality, accurate submission of records, safety and the general feedback of passengers/clients.
These positions are offered as Full-Time, Part-Time and Intermittent
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Drives van according to assigned weekly schedules- Inspects assigned/available vehicles to ensure safety of passengers/vehicle- Assists passengers on and off vehicles and with packages as needed- Prepares transportation related reports such as pre/post inspections, mileage and time sheets- Works closely with office staff and other drivers- Completes annual training required by the FTA, NCDOT and WNC Source- Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma/GED- Must possess valid North Carolina driver's license- Minimum of 2 years driving experience- Skilled in safe driving habits and operation of multi-purpose vehicles- Working knowledge of two-way radio systems- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and with staff oflocal resource agencies- Must be able to read and write, complete inspection, mileage and time sheets
