ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing consistent company-wide directives, marketing initiatives, and strategic hotel positioning.
  • Plan and manage overall sales and marketing strategies for a specific region or portfolio of hotels.
  • Provide guidance and support to hotel Directors of Sales to optimize occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR), maximizing total revenue while achieving hotel profit objectives.
  • Partner with hotel Operations leadership to formulate short- and long-term strategies for the hotel sales division, including direct sales efforts, follow-up, proper sales administration, and training.
  • Work closely with hotel leadership to influence marketing, advertising, sales plans, and the annual budget for the region and portfolio; manage within established plans and budgets.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and ownership groups.
  • Influence the development of hotel sales and marketing plans to maximize enterprise value while maintaining brand identity and standards.
  • Evaluate and track hotel revenue performance against budget and brand benchmarks for the assigned region.
  • Regular travel to assigned hotels is required.
  • Monitor group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue.
  • Oversee the annual budget and sales plans for advertising, public relations, and marketing for the hotel to achieve or exceed revenue and profit goals.
  • Initiate and develop sales trips to key feeder markets, identifying accounts that can enhance revenue performance across all hotels in the cluster.
  • Collaborate with property-based Directors of Sales to coordinate on-site direct sales efforts.
  • Understand contractual content and negotiate appropriate terms effectively.
  • Maintain market awareness to forecast revenue opportunities and establish proactive strategies.
  • Monitor production from top accounts and evaluate market trends.
  • Conduct on-property visits to assess sales leadership, strategic culture, and compliance with company standards and metrics.
  • Achieve individual and team goals as well as budgeted metrics.
  • Train Directors of Sales within the assigned portfolio on recognizing and leveraging sales opportunities to enhance occupancy and revenue.
  • Partner with hotel leadership and Corporate HR to manage human resources, including attracting, retaining, motivating, and developing associates; conduct performance reviews; and handle disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
  • Foster a strong relationship and communication with the General Manager regarding the assigned Director of Sales associates.

EXPERIENCE
  • Prior experience in multi-brand, multi-market, and/or complex sales environments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective negotiation, persuasion, and influence with managerial staff, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
  • Comprehensive understanding of professional selling techniques, including opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision for effective sales deployment.
  • Proficiency in general computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with and manage individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, effectively solving complex issues and fostering a productive sales team.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles, including a proven ability to mentor and develop others in these areas.
  • Capable of maintaining composure and objectivity in high-pressure situations.
