Summary : The Account Manager II is responsible for onboarding, maintaining, servicing and strengthening relationships with existing clients with medium complexity. May also get involved with the sales process prior to implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with clients. May coordinate/report to Senior Account Managers with responsibility for specific clients.Acts as the subject matter expert on benefits and vendor/carrier products and services. May get assistance on subjects from Senior Account Managers.Develops relationships with carrier representatives to better understand available products and services in the marketplace and recommend them to clientsAnticipates client needs and identify the strategies to solve themReviews request for proposals and insurance plan analyses, negotiate with carriers and recommend renewal actions.Oversees client projects such as implementation of new business, cancellations, claims, etc.Conducts annual client compliance audits.Provides updates to clients regarding appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issuesUnderstands and articulates alternative funding strategies.Works with Director, Accounts, and Senior Managers to develop and execute client strategy plan and defined deliverables.Performs other duties as assigned and increasingly exercises independent judgment subject to general supervisor support.May supervise one or more individual contributors. Likely to provide informal leadership based on experience without official supervisory responsibility.Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products and servicesAbility to work independently and anticipate client and team needsEffective time management and decision-making skillsDiligent follow up skillsAbility to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communicationsStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsCommanding presentation and public speaking abilitiesEducation and/or Experience:

High School graduate (or equivalent), and BA/BS preferred with more than 3 years' client service and/or industry and product line experience.Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required.
