Position Overview:

Common House Richmond is seeking a dedicated and experienced

Event Sales Manager

to oversee the sales, strategy, and reporting of hundreds of events annually, including weddings, rehearsal dinners, and corporate retreats. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of full-service event sales experience, possess excellent leadership and networking skills, and be enthusiastic about growing the department. We highly value integrity, excellence, flexibility, and teamwork in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission:Partner with the Event Club Manager to build a successful event department by achieving booking and revenue goals, receiving positive client feedback, and fostering healthy working relationships across the club's departments.Sales:

Sell and book all events, from responding to inquiries to creating initial proposals/contracts for rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate meetings, non-profit fundraisers, work retreats, etc.Manage multiple unique rentable spaces and all-inclusive services.Set up phone calls and tours for potential clients.Upsell booked clients on premium experiences or products.Maintain and nurture client relationships to encourage repeat business.Collaborate with the Director of Operations and OpCo Function Lead to enhance sales tactics and strategies.Oversee department tasks and projects to maintain efficiency and increase revenue.Network with wedding vendors and other key event vendors to promote Common House's opening and new event space.Strategy:

Generate event leads through community outreach and networking with local wedding vendors, corporate companies, universities, etc.Attend local networking events and gatherings.Take the initiative to grow the pipeline of event clientsWork with the internal Brand & Communications team to proactively market Common House as an event venue in local and surrounding markets.Collaborate with the Food and Beverage and Front of House teams to create custom dining experiences, private event menus, and beverage packages for various event types and budgets.Reporting:

Attend weekly All Team meetings, Month In Review meetings, and BEO meetings with prepared reports and notes for private events.Track data on leads, bookings, and event executions to inform pricing, decision-making, and marketing strategies.Update the event pacing document weekly.
