Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR is currently looking for a Kentucky Business Development and Project Delivery Leader for the Kentucky/Tennessee/Arkansas Water Business Group [WBG]. The Business Development and Project Delivery Leader will collaborate with KY/TN/AR Area WBG staff, client managers, and leadership to support the growth of our practice to new clients while expanding our relationships with key existing clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationships with clients across the Area, especially with leaders of those organizations. The candidate is also expected to support project and initiative advancement via engagement with HDR's local, regional and national market sector leaders and client managers.In the role of KY Business Development and Project Delivery Leader we'll count on you to:Identify opportunities with new and existing clients and position HDR for success by developing innovative and winning solutions with a primary focus on the central and western Kentucky marketplace.Expand relationship depth with key existing and new clients.Partner with our KY/TN/AR Client Development Leader and WBG Operations Manager, project and client managers, technical resources, and the client development team to strategically grow our services to new clients as well as expand our capabilities with existing key clients.Maintain and broaden HDR's brand within the local/state and national professional water organizations and regional partnerships.Provide Project/Initiative Support as Principal in Charge, Technical Advisor, Quality Control Reviewer on drinking water, water resources and wastewater projects, and project manager or technical role on select projects within New York area.Provide leadership for the Lexington Office Water group.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline fieldA minimum of 7 years of experience in client and partnership developmentProfessional Engineering license and has related technical experienceProven capabilities in business development in a wide range of service areas and client typesStrong client relationships in Kentucky, especially at the leadership and management levelsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsExperienced in developing and managing diverse teamsWork cooperatively with operations managers, technical and marketing directors on client development effortsCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications20 or more year of relevant experience in the water/wastewater or related (e.g. consultingMaster's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related disciplineStrong client relationships in Kentucky and neighboring areas
