RN or LPN:
The RN or LPN Staff Nurse assists in coordinating person-centered nursing care for residents of the Woodcrest Retirement Community and in doing so works closely with all members of the healthcare team. The Staff Nurse participates in resident and family education and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other resident care personnel in accordance with the philosophy and mission of Adams Health Network (AHN) and the Standards of Nursing Practice. It provides an environment conducive to resident safety and comfort. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the licensed nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Good communication skills with residents and staff, able to manage a nursing unit at night and make critical decisions with other caregivers through night hours.
QMA:
Qualified Medication Aides (QMA) in the state of Indiana are permitted to administer non-parenteral medications in long term care facilities in accordance with a physician's plan of treatment and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. QMAs are not allowed to do invasive procedures and assessing. The QMA is expected to follow the instructions issued by the physician or licensed nurse according to established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
PRN
Valid RN, LPN or QMA license in State of Indiana
BLS/CPR certification
Previous senior living experience preferred
