Description: SUMMARY:The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) works under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using a CT Machine. Responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections; use of aseptic injection techniquesProduces high quality diagnostic imagesOrders supplies and cleans the workspaceEffectively communicates with customers, doctors, and/or other staff membersTrouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.)Trains new CT Techs and/or support staffStart I.V.'s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocolThis document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed. PM22Requirements: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent experienceAssociate's Degree or equivalent experience preferredGraduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology programCurrent ARRT(CT)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
