CT Technologist - PRN (as needed)

DescriptionSUMMARY:The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) works under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using a CT Machine. Responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections; use of aseptic injection techniquesProduces high quality diagnostic imagesOrders supplies and cleans the workspaceEffectively communicates with customers, doctors, and/or other staff membersTrouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.)Trains new CT Techs and/or support staffStart I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocolPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent experienceAssociate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferredGraduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology programCurrent ARRT(CT)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Strong interpersonal abilitiesExcellent telephone skills and etiquetteMaintains confidentialityKnowledge of infection control, sterile technique and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic settingUse and apply medical terminology appropriatelyService orientationAbility to relate sensitively to patients’ needsWell-organized
