Title: Day to Day Nurse Substitute
FUNCTION: Substitute School Nurses are needed to help support our School Nurses when they are out due to illness, workshops, etc. The Bellingham School District is attempting to add qualified, dependable substitute school nurses to our team.
Day to Day Assignment as Needed (Locations Vary)

FUNCTION: Substitute School Nurses are needed to help support our School Nurses when they are out due to illness, workshops, etc. The Bellingham School District is attempting to add qualified, dependable substitute school nurses to our team.
Day to Day Assignment as Needed (Locations Vary)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing as directed by
- State Department of Health.
- Observes students to detect health needs.
- Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics and other agencies on student health matters, as directed by the School Principal.
- Assumes authority for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.
- Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
- Assists school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools.
- Assumes other general related responsibilities as may be assigned, which may include temporary fill-in duties in other buildings.
- Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School committee.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two years of child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION:
- Registered Nurse with valid license to practice in Massachusetts
- Completion of an orientation program by the Lead Nurse
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid from a recognized provider.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good health - willing to submit to a medical exam.
- Ability to relate with students and establish a good rapport.
- Must be a person of professional and personal integrity.
