You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifeIn this role you will be responsible for planning, directing implementing all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.The Program Manager will lead key programs with the Surgical Program Management Office to develop and harmonize our New Product Development Process. This team member provides the critical Project Management expertise to enable crisp execution in a cross-functional matrixed environment, encompassing Design, Manufacturing & Service, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, and Quality. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.Facilitate solutions to complex problems with team, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.Reviews, Edits, and Writes new standard operating procedures for Product Development. Enables compliance to design control requirement ISO 13485:2016 and FDA 21 CFR 820.Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project’s key stakeholders.Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CAREER STREAM: Program Managers and Directors focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members.DIFFERENTIATING FACTORSKnowledge of medical device R&D, product development, and clinical/regulatory procedures; including identifying use conditions, developing requirements, and implementing risk management activities like failure mode analysis. Experience working with quality systems with an comprehensive understanding of device master record systems. Comprehensive knowledge of medical device standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485).Autonomy: Recognized expert, managing large projects or processes. Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level specialists.Organizational Impact: Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results. Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and/or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area. Implements solutions to problems. Communication and Influence: Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conducts briefings to higher level management team. Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.Leadership and Talent Management: Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Direct involvement in daily tasks necessary for successful program execution. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
