Role Profile

Reporting to the Head of FX Technology, this is a senior leadership position in the Markets technology team to be based in New York. The ideal candidate is encouraged to contribute significantly to the FX technology strategy and delivery, explore and develop partnership opportunities, improve resilience and reliability. Delivery of key strategic transform initiatives for the business is a key aspect of the role.

This is an ambitious engineering leadership role that involves working across many functions supporting the FX business and Group Technology. To be successful, the selected individual will need to provide strong, thoughtful people and engineering leadership.

The individual will be a part of the FX Technology leadership team, providing a platform to champion and influence direction within the wider LSEG business, working and collaborating across the Markets and Data & Analytics divisions.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the creation and delivery of an end-to-end technology roadmap and strategy for the Markets FX business services, ensuring technology roadmap is well aligned

Build positive relationships with the key partners, innovating with product management, business transformation and senior technology roles to deliver revenue growth

Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to build innovative, highly functional & resilient FX technology products.

Work with the business on new partnerships that can accelerate success and drive growth and retention across various solutions.

Collaborate and work closely with other group technology functions to ensure that business and technical needs are addressed.

Bring technical thought leadership to drive the long-term vision within the FX technology team towards an increasingly cloud-based architecture

Lead critical path work, schedule items, and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.

Drives cost efficiency of delivery and maintenance through technology and process innovation.

Implements a strong governance and risk management framework for technology delivery to identify risks early and to ensure appropriate reporting and remedial actions are undertaken to keep delivery on track.

Represent Markets FX technology in risk committees and operational governance forums.

Develops successful teams with wide-ranging strengths, with clear succession plans.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
  • Proven experience in low latency FX Electronic Trading Technology
  • Computer Science degree or relevant work experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java and JVM technology or C++ 11/14/17 with a history of delivery high quality software
  • Have good understanding of AWS or Azure cloud environment with deep understanding of choices in deployment including the network load balancing, DNS based multi-region routing/HA, proxies, cold and hot storage etc.
  • In-depth understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Able to lead in a highly matrixed organisation, work with, and accept feedback from, a wide variety of collaborators, communicate complicated issues to senior decision makers, focusing on relevant details and considerations.
  • Proven track record in using software development tools, techniques, agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Strong understanding of the resiliency requirements for high efficiency and low latency technology platforms.
  • Ability to analyse / review and work across various functions such as Sales, Business, Operations, Legal, Compliance and Regulation and comfortable communicating/presenting to all levels internally and externally
  • The candidate must have a proven record in an equivalent role in complex organizations running critical services in the financial industry.


Compensation/Benefits Information (New York applicants only):

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $183,000 - $340,000.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
