Business Development Manager

to develop and win new business capitalizing on Methode's Lighting, Power and Sensor product portfolio with PACCAR and DTNA in the Commercial Vehicle customer segment. This role is also tasked with enhancing profitability and optimizing cost recovery for ongoing production operations. In this role, you will continuously strive to build and enhance customer relationships while safeguarding Methode's reputation and maintaining strong customer connections.This position is a west coast-based role with the ideal candidate residing in the Pacific Northwest with proximity to Seattle and Portland.Methode Electronics Automotive Groupis a leading global developer of User-Interfaces, LED Lighting, Sensors, and Chassis and Powertrain signal/power distribution solutions. Responsibilities:Primary focus is booking new business and enhancing profit at PACCAR and DTNA

Win new business within Methode's broad technology portfolio in Lighting, Power & Sensor technologies

Develop and execute strategies to secure new business RFQ's and awards

Lead Methode's new business proposals to meet customer specifications, requirements and expectations

Develop and cultivate strong relationships across various customer levels and functions, including Engineering, Program Teams, Product Planning, Design Studio, Quality, and Purchasing

Lead and leverage internal cross-functional teams, including Advanced Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, Quote/Costing, Purchasing, and Quality, to maximize new business acquisition

Collect competitive and market intelligence to help define future industry needs and requirements, along with recommended actions to grow Methode's Lighting, Power and Sensor product portfolio

Define target customer product cycle plans to develop proactive (prior to the customer RFQ) plans and strategies in order to win new business

Develop mid-cycle new business opportunities and proposals, including design enhancements, solving customer problems (quality, warranty, etc.), and competitive conquest business

Present commercial issues related to pricing, tooling, capital investments, annual price reductions, and cost recovery to PACCAR and DTNA Purchasing, negotiating with customers to maximize growth and profitability

Maintain Salesforce.com and PLM data to manage business development and account management records including sales forecasting, quotations, long term contracts, purchase orders, price change, part number change history

Monitor and report on the activities of competitors and identify business risks and threat

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required, engineering and/or business preferred

Minimum of 7 years of relevant business development/sales experience with a demonstrated track record of booking new business and establishing deep customer relationship

Prior experience and relationships within PACCAR and/or DTNA market segment

Broad experience engaging cross-functional teams from product concept to award and throughout program development

Strong analytical, business acumen and strategic planning skills

Excellent presentation skills and customer interface skills

Strong understanding of customer advanced development activities and approval milestones/process in order to progress initial concepts to ultimately booking new business awards

Deep understanding of customer's requirements, product plans and related systems

Track record of executing challenging assignments and exceeding expectations

Up to 50% travel

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
