Scopely is seeking a VP, Corporate Controller to join our Accounting Team on a hybrid basis in our Culver City, CA office.
The VP, Corporate Controller, is responsible for managing accounting functions for Scopely Inc and its subsidiaries. The role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, deal support, and management support for financial decision-making. The VP, Corporate Controller, will also play a transformative role in evolving our accounting function as we continue to scale into one of the largest mobile games companies.

What You Will Do
Provide strong leadership to the global accounting organization to ensure the integrity of our financial statements, adherence to US GAAP, and timely closing of the books. Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the accounting organization to establish scalable processes and efficiency. As a leader at Scopely, help shape the finance function and our long-term strategy. Oversee all matters related to the month-end close and preparation of monthly financial statements. Partner closely with other members of the finance organization to deepen our understanding of the business, drive sound financial decision making, and help drive the business forward. Manage the annual financial audit process and serve as the main point of contact for our external auditor. Research and document Scopely's technical accounting matters for areas such as revenue, equity, investment, and US GAAP to IFRS differences. Educate the Accounting team and executives on application of policies and drive the implementation of any changes in policies or adoption of new accounting standards. Promote a collaborative and trusting work environment that enables team members to maximize their potential and grow their careers at Scopely. Provide mentorship, support, and motivation to the accounting team and embody the spirit of Scopely’s culture tenets. What You Will Need
An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related business discipline is required. CPA, or equivalent, is required. 15+ years of management experience in high-judgment roles, including extensive public accounting experience and managing multiple teams in Accounting and Finance Operations (Big 4 Accounting experience preferred). A track record of progressively increasing management responsibilities including building and growing a team and developing leaders from within the organization. Attention to detail. High level of integrity and self-awareness. Experience managing external audit processes. Extensive technical expertise in US GAAP accounting, along with familiarity with IFRS. Strong IT and financial systems aptitude. Experience working with senior executives in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will approach the job with a great sense of urgency, enjoy taking the initiative, thrive at juggling multiple priorities, and seamlessly shift gears as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships with all personality types at all levels, able to navigate difficult conversations or situations. For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $225,000 - $275,000, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off.
