Position SummaryAs a Senior Software Engineer - full stack, you will be responsible for designing and developing new product features, supporting existing implementations and working with product, engineering, & business partners on new innovations.About TeamTasked with building, developing, and guiding high-performing talent. Additionally, this team owns and supports the delivery of all features for global data engineering and platforms. These efforts are crucial to ensuring the success of Walmart's operations and goals. By prioritizing the development of high-performing talent and delivering critical features, the Core Services engineering team plays a vital role in driving Walmart's success.What You'll DoLeads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, conducting unit testing, and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.Collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams. Troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan.Models compliance with company policies, procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans.Creates training documentation. Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshooting supports.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable, high-performance software solutions.Take ownership of full-stack development, including front-end and back-end components.Utilize your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to create robust and efficient applications.Design and optimize databases using SQL and NoSQL technologies for data storage and retrieval.Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and ensure seamless integration with other systems.Work with cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure to build scalable and secure applications.Utilize the ELK stack for log analysis and monitoring of system performance.Develop and optimize queries using Big Query to analyze large datasets.Collaborate with the team to perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality code delivery.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.What You'll BringAn Engineering Degree - B.E/ B.Tech /MS in any stream - Computer Science preferred.7 + years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.A good understanding of reactJS, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML to build reusable front end widgets or micro front ends using Walmart design standards.Hands-on experience with Java, SpringBoot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka (or other messaging service), Memcached/Redis or any caching technologies, relational DBMS (MySQL, Oracle etc).Should be hands-on writing/reviewing design & code.Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of at least one cloud-based project - Experience in building extensible platforms, data pipelines is desirable.Previous experience in internalization is a plus.Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.Minimum QualificationsOutlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
