Senior, Software Engineer - Backend - Data Ventures

Position SummaryAs a Senior Software Engineer, Backend you will be responsible for building, developing, and guiding high-performing talent for the Core Services engineering team. You will own and support delivery for all the features for the global data engineering and platform.What You'll DoLead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, conducting unit testing, and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.Collaborate with project team and cross-functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.Model compliance with company policies, procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.Create training documentation and oversee the tasks of less experienced programmers.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable, high-performance software solutions.Take ownership of full-stack development, including front-end and back-end components.Utilize your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to create robust and efficient applications.Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and ensure seamless integration with other systems.Work with cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure to build scalable and secure applications.Utilize the ELK stack for log analysis and monitoring of system performance.Develop and optimize queries using Big Query to analyze large datasets.Collaborate with the team to perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality code delivery.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.What You'll BringA good understanding of Java and Microservices.Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka, and relational DBMS (MySQL, Oracle).Experience with Data pipeline engineering (HUDI/DELTA, Google HIVE, Elastic Search).Understanding of Agile methodologies.CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.Minimum QualificationsOutlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.Preferred QualificationsOutlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position:Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
